I just have to say again how proud I am of Jimmy Howard. I remember talking to him three seasons ago at the Toast of Hockeytown, when he had first stepped in to save our asses and our pathetic season. No one was even paying attention to him. I got the chance to speak with him for a while because of that and it really gave me a chance to develop a quick and permanent attachment to him. I told him that he was playing fantastically, and he was saving our season. He actually dropped his head, all embarrassed, looking at his feet while he smiled and then he looked at me and thanked me so sincerely it kind of broke my heart a little. He’s so sweet and he’s so humble, and he is a damn good goaltender. We’re lucky to have him. I’m so proud of him for making it to the ASG. He deserves to be recognized for what an outstanding goalie he is and has become. Next stop: Team USA, baby.
